The Center for Diversity & Enrichment offers the following programs for precollege students. Iowa First NationsWeb site: http://cde.uiowa.edu/index.php/ifn-summer-program.html The Iowa First Nations Comprehensive Enrichment Program was established to encourage Native Americans who are entering grade 9 or 11 and are interested in professional careers in the sciences, engineering, and related fields. The Iowa First Nations Program brings Native American students to The University of Iowa for a two-week residential summer program that focuses on biochemistry and life sciences and explores the relationship between science and Native American cultures. Life Science Summer ProgramWeb site: http://cde.uiowa.edu/index.php/life-science-summer-program.html The Life Science Summer Program (LSSP) is an intensive, two-week summer program for high school students who are interested in biology but have not taken high school biology classes. Sponsored by the Center for Diversity & Enrichment, the program provides hands-on laboratory training and classroom instruction covering a wide range of topics in developmental biology.
