The Center for Diversity & Enrichment offers the following programs for precollege students.

Iowa First Nations

The Iowa First Nations Comprehensive Enrichment Program was established to encourage Native Americans who are entering grade 9 or 11 and are interested in professional careers in the sciences, engineering, and related fields. The Iowa First Nations Program brings Native American students to The University of Iowa for a two-week residential summer program that focuses on biochemistry and life sciences and explores the relationship between science and Native American cultures. Life Science Summer Program

The Life Science Summer Program (LSSP) is an intensive, two-week summer program for high school students who are interested in biology but have not taken high school biology classes. Sponsored by the Center for Diversity & Enrichment, the program provides hands-on laboratory training and classroom instruction covering a wide range of topics in developmental biology. The curriculum also includes health-related issues and current events.
