The Iowa First Nations Comprehensive Enrichment Program was established to encourage Native Americans of secondary school age to aim for professional careers in the sciences, engineering, and related fields. The Iowa First Nations Program brings Native American students entering grade 10 or 11 to The University of Iowa for a two-week residential summer program that focuses on the biological sciences and the relationship between science and Native American cultures. In addition to course work, students participate in varied social and recreational activities. For more information about Iowa First Nations, contact the Opportunity at Iowa Program.
