Single-section is defined as a course in which all students are assembled in the same place at
the same time during the week. For example, 016:001 has many discussion sections, but it is a single-section
course because the course has a common meeting time for the lecture.
The following table shows the days and times of the single-section final examination periods. The day and time entries designate the first regular
weekly meeting time of the single-sectioned courses whose examinations are to be held in that examination time period.
Schedules for daytime* classes meeting for the first time on Monday apply also to classes meeting for the
first time on Wednesday or Friday. Schedules for Tuesday daytime* classes apply to classes meeting for the
first time on Thursday. Classes meeting at a time other than on the half-hour are tested with classes
of the preceeding half hour. For example, 8:05 a.m. classes are tested at the same time as the 7:30 a.m.
classes. Please select the correct session from the drop-down menu at the top of the table.
Multiple section scheduling takes precedence over standard class meeting time scheduling. Please see the
Multi-Section Exam Schedule to see if your class is listed.
Classes meeting at a time other than on the half-hour are tested with classes of the preceding half-hour.
Example: 8:05 a.m. classes are tested at the same time as the 7:30 a.m. classes.
Instructors who have a test in a period in which single section times are combined should
contact Space Planning at 335-1243 to reserve a room.
Tuesday/Thursday classes which meet only one day/week or Monday/Wednesday/Friday
classes which meet less than three days/week may result in the same classroom
being assigned for two different exams. Instructors: If you are giving a final exam during
the week, and your class falls into the above description, please make a room
reservation to ensure a testing place.
*Daytime classes are classes that meet before 4:30 p.m.
