Options for Ordering Official Transcripts:
ONLINE - Former and current students may use ISIS to place their transcript requests, using their HawkID and password. If you have let your Hawk ID password expire, please call the ITS Help Desk at 319-384-4357 to get it reset.
If you were last a student here prior to 2003 and want to order online, you need to call the Registrar's Service Center and establish an ISIS alumni account. That number is 319-384-4300. If your request will likely be a one-time request, it is easier to use the CORRESPONDENCE method.
You can check your own ISIS request history - Student Records>Transcript Request>upper right hand corner is Transcript Request History. This history only shows requests placed via ISIS, not by correspondence or in-person. Processed = Sent on the date shown.
IN PERSON - You may come to the Registrar's Service Center which is located in Room 17 Calvin Hall (Lower Level). Office hours are: 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Please bring one form of photo I.D. with you to place your order if taking the transcript with you; bring all mailing/address information if the transcript will be sent by our office to the destination.
CORRESPONDENCE - You may print, complete and submit the Transcript Request Form. Once we receive a transcript request, it takes 2-4 business days to process and it will be sent out by USPS unless Federal Express is requested alternatively (no PO Box addresses for FedEx). If a fax (unofficial) is requested, we mail (USPS) the official. We process transcript requests without payment. If you are a current student, charges will be billed to your U-bill. If you are a former student or a student from a defunct (closed) college, a bill will be sent to your current residing address. Former students of closed/defunct institutions need to use the correspondence method. See this link for defunct schools that we maintain the academic record: www.lib.uiowa.edu/spec-coll/archives/faq/faqcolleges.htm
For information about having transcripts sent to the University of Iowa from other institutions, please visit http://www.uiowa.edu/admissions/undergrad/apply/fy-apply.html.
An official transcript is a certified record of the academic work done at the University of Iowa. It includes classes taken, hours earned, grades received and degrees conferred. Many colleges require that transcripts sent to the student be in a sealed envelope with a signature across the flap from the sending institution. If you need to have your transcript sent to you in this manner, please indicate this at the time of your request. Official transcripts from the University of Iowa are not sent in a sealed envelope unless so requested. We send your complete, entire record - we cannot separate different colleges or level of study you have completed.
The Registrar's Office does not provide unofficial transcripts. If you are a current student you may obtain a semester grade report on ISIS. Grade reports are rarely accepted by prospective employers or other schools in place of official transcripts.
At this time, the University of Iowa is unable to send transcripts electronically. You can have your HawkID password reset to view your Completed Grades on ISIS by calling the ITS Help Desk at 319-384-4357. We can also fax an unofficial transcript as part of an official request for an additional $7.00 fee (making the total fee $23.00). If you need to upload your transcript for an online application, you need to obtain an official paper transcript and scan it yourself for submission.

Charges are automatically billed through the University Billing Office.
